Teen Mugged Near Riverside Park, Police Say

A 19-year-old was thrown to the ground and robbed of his wallet and Air Pods while walking near the west side park.

MORNINGSIDE HEIGHTS, NY — A teenager walking along Riverside Park was mugged by two men who fled into the expansive park after the robbery, police said.

The 19-year-old victim was walking near West 114th Street and Riverside Drive shortly after 10 p.m. Thursday when he was approached by two unknown men and thrown to the ground, police said. Robbers stole the teen's wallet and Air Pod headphones, said police.

The two men ran into Riverside Park and were able to avoid arrest, police said. The victim did not require medical treatment.

Police released a photo of two suspects wanted for the parkside mugging.
