Upper West Side Duane Reade Robbed In Middle Of The Day: Police
The robber threatened an employee who tried to stop him from exiting the store with the stolen items, according to police.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A man robbed an Upper West Side Duane Reade during the middle of the day on Wednesday, taking multiple items before getting arrested exiting the store.
Police were called to the convenience store location at 2069 Broadway at 11:35 a.m., between Amsterdam and West 71st and 72nd Streets, for reports of a man attempting to rob the store.
Upon arrival at the scene, the officers were informed that a 51-year-old man entered the store and filled up his shirt with merchandise. The suspect then attempted to flee the scene, and yelled "I'm going to shoot you" at customers and employees as he exited the store, according to police.

NYPD officers were however able to track down and arrest the man after canvasing the nearby blocks.
Police told Patch that he stole nine items worth $175 from the Duane Reade.

The man was charged with robbery and criminal possession of stolen property, and identified as a 51-year-old from Brooklyn.
