A deadly fire broke out Wednesday night between 101st and 102nd Street on Columbus Avenue, according to the FDNY.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A person is dead after a fire broke out Wednesday night in a residential building on the Upper West Side, according to the FDNY.

The deadly fire ignited on the third floor of a 20-story building at 845 Columbus Avenue, between 101st and 102nd Streets, according to the FDNY.

The address is within the NYCHA Frederick Douglass building complex.

The fire was under control by 7:47 p.m., but an FDNY spokesperson told Patch that a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
