Upper West Side Fire: 3 Firefighters Suffer Injuries, FDNY Says

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Three firefighters were injured Wednesday morning when a fire broke out on the top floor of an Upper West Side building, an FDNY spokesman told Patch.

The blaze broke out on the top floor of 924 West End Avenue — a 13-story building located between West 105th and 106th streets — around 2:35 a.m., an FDNY spokesman said. Firefighters had the fire knocked down and under control shortly before 3:30 a.m., the spokesman told Patch.

Three firefighters suffered minor injuries while battling the blaze and were sent to the hospital in stable condition, an FDNY spokesman told Patch. Two of the injured firefighters were transported to St. Luke's Hospital and one was taken to Weill Cornell Medical Center, the spokesman said.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown, an FDNY spokesman told Patch.
