Upper West Side Fire: 2 Injured In Blaze At W. 99th St. High-Rise
Firefighters responded to a 6th-floor fire in a residential high-rise on West 99th Street between Broadway and West End Avenue.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Two people were treated for minor injuries at the scene of a residential high-rise fire Monday night on the Upper West Side, an FDNY spokesman told Patch. For more updates on the fire and similar Upper West Side news, subscribe to Patch's free newsletter and news alerts.
The fire broke out around 6:27 p.m. on the 6th floor of a residential building located on 250 W. 99th Street, between Broadway and West End Avenue, fire officials told Patch. The blaze was under control by 7:03 p.m. a department spokesman said.

A witness on the scene tweeted that six firetrucks and an ambulance responded to the building around 6:40 p.m., and that firefighters started to enter the building about 15 minutes after they arrived. Firefighters at the scene told the witness they believed the fire originated from a kitchen in the building.
