Uptown Bike Thieves Steal From 4 Delivery Men In 3 Weeks: Cops

UPTOWN, MANHATTAN — A group of thieves have been targeting delivery workers on bikes in Uptown Manhattan the last month, police said.

Police have released photos of five men who they say are connected to at least four bike robberies in Harlem, the Upper West Side and Inwood since March 15. In each incident, at least one of the suspects pushes a delivery worker off down to take their bike.

The first robbery happened around 8:30 p.m. on March 15 in front of 644 Riverside Drive. A 19-year-old delivery man was leaving the building and one of the suspects pushed hi from his bike and fled with it, police said.

Then, about two weeks later on March 27, all five of the suspected came up to a 20-year-old delivery man making a drop-off at 322 West 108th St just after midnight. One of the suspects took out a knife, pushed the delivery worker from his bike and rode away, police said.

A few days later around 8:20 p.m. on March 31, two of the suspects came up to a 19-year-old delivery worker as he was dropping something off near West 163rd Street and Edgecombe Avenue. The suspects pushed the man off his bike and fled with it, police said.

Finally, just after midnight on April 8, three of the suspects came up to a 29-year-old delivery worker as he was leaving 115 Payson Ave., police said. One of the thieves took out a knife, pushed the man off his bike and took it, police said.

The delivery workers were uninjured in all of the incidents, police said.
