Manhattan Borough Prez Brewer Hands Out Bags For A Good Cause
Manhattan Borough Prez Gale Brewer is again handing out Brewer Bags — "Spring's Hottest Manhattan Accessory."

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer announced Wednesday the return of "spring's hottest Manhattan accessory" — the Brewer Bag.
It's a reusable, earth-friendly bag that Brewer has carried herself for decades. It has become a bit of an annual tradition for Manhattanites in the know to get their hands on one of the bags, which Brewer gives out in a select number each year.

The blue bag has "Borough of Manhattan" printed on the front, with "Gale. A Brewer, Borough President" written out in smaller letters underneath.

"Single-use plastics fill up our city's landfills and find their way into our oceans and rivers," Brewer said in a news release. "I'm proud to offer these free reusable bags so that we can all be a part of the solution. Using these fashion-forward and iconic bags will bring us closer to a cleaner and greener New York City."
Brewer is handing out the bags in her capacity as Manhattan Borough President, but she is also a candidate for the City Council seat on the Upper West Side.
