UWS Police Precinct Hosts 'Build The Block' Community Event
The NYPD 20th Precinct on the Upper West Side will host a community engagement event on Friday to discuss neighborhood safety concerns.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — The New York Police Department's 20th Precinct is set to host the first "Build The Block Neighborhood Policing & Safety Meeting" of August on Friday for business owners and residents on the Upper West Side.
The meeting will take place at the Pier 1 Cafe on West 70th Street and Riverside Park, with doors opening for refreshments at 6 p.m. and the meeting starting at 6:30 p.m.
Friday's meeting will be the first of four that the 20th Precinct hosts in August, and will be for residents and business owners in Sector A of the Upper West Side.

The meetings will be broken down by which sector within the precinct you live in, and you can find your sector by typing in your address on the NYPD's website.
"This is a new way of doing business for the NYPD, and we need your help to make it work," the 20th Precinct wrote on its Facebook page. "We want to hear from a broad range of voices about what it will take to make all the residents of our neighborhood feel safe and secure."

The Build The Block event on Friday is sponsored by the Upper West Side Neighborhood Coordination Officers, Police Officer Yelena Ast, and Police Officer Rawdi Ali.
