Upper West Side Resident Killed In Fatal Revel Crash ID'd
Helga Schnitker, 82-years-old, was struck by a Revel scooter on Sept. 29 as she walked across an intersection on the Upper West Side.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — Police identified an elderly Upper West Side resident who was killed after being hit by a Revel scooter near Columbus Circle in September.
Helga Schnitker, 82-years-old, was walking across an intersection at Broadway and West 60th when a 23-year-old man on a scooter hit her.
The man stayed at the scene, and Schnitker was transported to Mt. Sinai Morningside in critical condition, where she died a short time later.

The investigation of the incident remains ongoing by the New York City Police Department's Highway Patrol Collision Investigation Squad.
Schnitker lived near West 73rd Street and Amsterdam, according to police.

The fatal crash in late September came a little over a month after Revel relaunched its scooter service in New York City. It had shut down previously after a high-profile string of fatal crashes and increased scrutiny on its safety record.
