WATCH: Cops Grab Ankles Of Man As He Dives From 10th Floor Window
Video shows the moment cops "miraculously" grabbed his ankles of a man with a knife trying to jump from a window and pulled him inside.

UPPER WEST SIDE, MANHATTAN ā Harrowing body camera footage shared by the NYPD Tuesday shows the moment cops grabbed a man's ankles as he was about to plunge from a 10th-story window on the Upper West Side.
"When they arrived the man was clutching a knife climbing through the window," the NYPD said. "Four officers dove into action."
The cops, all from the Upper West Side's 24th Precinct, were on patrol on Feb. 18 when they got the call that a man was trying to hurt himself in a nearby apartment, cops said.

The four officers walk into the West 100th Street building only to notice as soon as they got in the door to what appears to be the man's bedroom, that he was climbing out the 10th-floor window.
The officers rush over to the man, who already seems to be half out of the window, video shows.

"Miraculously, the officers were able to grab his ankles and pull him to safety," police said.

Once they pulled the man inside, cops tell him to drop a knife he was holding, which the man does.
Police said the incident goes to shows that "patrol is never routine."
