Woman Attempts to Rob Upper West Side Bank, Leaves Empty-Handed
The woman slid a note to a teller at a Chase bank at 2219 Broadway on Tuesday, but ended up fleeing the bank with nothing to show.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — A woman who attempted to rob a bank Tuesday on the Upper West Side found that it's not an easy way to make a living.
On Tuesday around 1:30 p.m. a woman entered a Chase bank on the 2200 block of Broadway and slid a note over to the teller demanding money, police said. It's a common form of bank robbery, much more common nowadays than holding up the place or pulling a Danny Ocean and concocting a grand scheme with your 11 best friends.
But for this woman, a pesky bank teller stood between her and the goods. The teller simply called her bluff and refused to give her any money, which resulted in the woman fleeing the scene empty-handed, police said.
