Woman Falls To Death From Upper West Side Apartment Building, Police Say
A 56-year-old woman jumped from a 16th floor apartment in a luxury West End Avenue building, police said.

UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — The NYPD is investigating the death of a 56-year-old woman who fatally fell 15 stories from an Upper West Side building as a suicide, an NYPD spokesman told Patch.
The woman was found on the second-story scaffolding outside 820 West End Avenue, located on the corner of West 100th Street, shortly after 6 p.m. Wednesday night, police said. She was unconscious and unresponsive and paramedics declared her dead on the scene, police said.
The woman was not identified by police.

The NYPD believes the woman jumped from her friend's 16th floor apartment, a department spokesperson told Patch. The friend who owns the apartment was brought in for questioning and released, the NYPD spokesman said.
