Skeletal remains in Utica Marsh identified as 71-year-old man (timestelegram.com) — Utica police have identified skeletal remains found near Utica Marsh as 71-year-old city resident Raymond Warmuth, who was reported missing in November 2024. Investigators are still determining how and when he died and are asking anyone with information about his movements or death to contact the Major Crimes Unit.
   

2. Latino American Festival Returns to Hanna Park Aug. 23 (wktv.com) — Hanna Park in downtown Utica will host the free Latino American Festival on August 23, running from noon to 8 p.m. Expect live music, youth dancers, food and merchandise vendors, kids' activities, a dominoes tournament, and a children's countries parade, with proceeds supporting Mohawk Valley Latino Association programs for the local Latino community.
   

3. Utica NY Forward Program Opens Call for Project Proposals (wktv.com) — Utica is opening applications for NY Forward-funded projects in Uptown, offering $4.5 million to support building upgrades, public improvements, and local branding efforts. Proposals will be accepted from August 25 through October 9, and must be within or near the designated Uptown boundary, construction-ready within two years, and backed by solid financing from eligible sponsors.
   

4. Deputies arrest Utica woman after fight leads to stun gun use, Oneida County sheriff says (oneidadispatch.com) — A Utica woman was arrested after deputies say a dispute in Clayville escalated into a physical altercation involving an electronic stun gun. Investigators charged the 33-year-old with weapon possession, menacing, and harassment after she later turned herself in at the Oneida County Sheriff's Office.
