• U.S. Marshals task force arrests Verona man on Oneida County bench warrant (cnycentral.com) — Law enforcement officers arrested a Verona man in Utica on a Oneida County bench warrant tied to serious domestic violence and weapons charges from a June incident in Kirkland. Deputies say they found cocaine on him during the traffic stop at North Genesee Street and Auert Avenue, and he is now being held in the county jail pending arraignment.
• Oneida Indian Nation credits unity, togetherness during expansion (uticaod.com) — Regional leaders highlighted how investments by the Oneida Indian Nation, including Turning Stone's expansion, are fueling economic growth that benefits communities like Utica through tourism, infrastructure, and public revenue. Mohawk Valley Garden president Rob Esche pointed to creating the Utica Comets and future sports events as proof that Central New York's unified approach is bringing more opportunities to the area.
• Bruce Kinsey (wiscassetnewspaper.com) — Utica readers may remember Bruce Kinsey, whose family settled in Utica and who attended New Hartford High School before completing his degree at Utica College. He later built a life and business in Maine, sharing adventurous travels with his family, and passed away on Sept. 10, 2026, leaving loved ones and many fond memories behind.
