12-Year-Old Boy Seriously Hurt After Being Hit By Car In Nassau

Police are still investigating, but say it was likely an accident that led to the boy's injuries, which weren't life threatening.

A 12-year-old boy was seriously injured after being hit by a car crossing a road in Seaford Friday afternoon.

According to police, the boy was crossing Merrick Road near Washington Avenue at 1:40 p.m. when he was hit by a 2001 Toyota Corolla being driven by a 32-year-old woman.

The driver remained at the scene. Police say the boy suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to a nearby hospital.

Police say it seems to be an accident and there is no criminality suspected at this time, but the investigation is ongoing.
