2-Hour Delayed Opening for Wantagh Schools Monday

Several local districts announced the decision after blizzard strikes the region.

Wantagh Public Schools will open on a 2-hour delay on Monday following a blizzard that dumped more than two feet of snow across Long Island, district officials have announced.

Here’s the message posted on the Wantagh district’s website:

Due to our recent heavy snowfall and snowy road conditions, all Wantagh Public Schools will open with a two hour delay tomorrow, Monday, January 25. Wantagh High School will therefore begin at 9:37; Wantagh Middle School at 10:16; and all three elementary schools at 11:15. All before school activities are cancelled. Students who typically ride the bus to school, including those who attend private and parochial schools, should arrive to their bus stops based upon this two hour delay. We hope that this adjustment in schedule will allow for safer travel for students and staff. Have a good night and please travel safely tomorrow morning.
