WANTAGH, NY — As the holiday season approaches, one local church is in desperate need of items.

St. Frances de Chantal Parish in Wantagh is looking to stock up its food pantry as the weather gets colder.

The church seeks various foods, but they are particularly low on milk, eggs, cheese, butter, and fresh fruits and vegetables, the Wantagh Chamber of Commerce posted on Facebook.

Other items sought include:

  • Jars of pasta sauce
  • Mayonnaise
  • Bottled juice
  • Cooking oil
  • Cookies/crackers
  • Jelly
  • Various toiletries

Supermarket gift cards and gas cards are always welcome as well.

Items can be dropped off during office hours, Monday-Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
