SEAFORD, NY — South shore drivers are being cautioned to expect heavier traffic than usual Friday morning, police announced, as a line-of-duty funeral is expected to travel along Sunrise Highway and Merrick Road between the intersections of Seamans Neck Road and Washington Avenue.
Nassau County police announced the funeral and its expected impact on traffic Thursday afternoon, noting that the funeral would be moving through Seaford between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m., and said motorists should find alternate routes where possible.
