4th Of July Rescue Mission Pulls Stranded 50-Foot Yacht From Oyster Bay: PD

WANTAGH, NY — A 50-foot yacht was the subject of a rescue mission Saturday night after becoming stranded in the mouth of Oyster Bay, officials said.

Nassau County police said the yacht was reported stranded at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, with NCPD marine bureau and Town of Oyster Bay constables responding to its place in the water to assist the boat back to shore.

Police did not say how the boat got stuck in the water, nor did they report any injuries, arrests or charges stemming from the July 4 incident.
