Wantagh School District Welcomes 13 New Faculty Members (patch.com) — Wantagh families can look forward to 13 new educators joining the Wantagh School District as they complete an in-depth orientation before students return. The program includes mentoring, workshops, and tours of local schools, and even features three Wantagh High School alumni coming back to teach in their hometown community.

Shelter Dog Arrived as a 'Neglected' Stray, Until a Little Love Gave Him Hope for a Fresh Start (dogtime.com) — A small poodle mix named Zeke is waiting for a new home at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter in Wantagh after arriving as a severely matted stray and blossoming with some basic care. Staff say he's playful, social with dogs and cats, and best with older, experienced kids, and they're urging locals to share his story or consider fostering or adopting him.
4. UAlbany student dies in motorcycle crash (cbs6albany.com) — A 19-year-old UAlbany student was killed when his motorcycle struck a guide rail on the northbound Wantagh State Parkway just south of Goose Neck Bridge in Nassau County. Both he and his passenger were thrown from the bike; she remains in critical condition, while the university is offering counseling resources to classmates and friends coping with the loss.
