Animal Shelter Holds Valentine's Day Pet Food Drive

Last Hope of Wantagh is seeking donations for 10 days.

SEAFORD, NY — Valentine's Day isn't just about showing you care for your loved ones. The Last Hope Animal Rescue is holding a food drive for cats and dogs in need.

Donations sought:

  • Unopened bags of dry dog and cat food
  • Cans of wet dog and cat food (prescription diets are acceptable too)
  • Treats (no rawhide or treats made in China)

The shelter will not accept any cat litter.

The drive is from Feb. 12 to Feb. 22.

The Last Hope is renting a pod to store the food, the Seaford Chamber Commerce wrote on Facebook.

If the pod is locked, people can leave at the door of the pod or at the Adoption Center.

Ring the bell to alert a volunteer of a dropoff.

The food drive will benefit Nobody Starves on Long Island, LI Cares Harry Chapin Food Bank Baxter Pet Pantry and Last Hope Feral Feeders Supply Room.
