Bicyclist Struck by Car in Wantagh

The 88 year-old man was thrown from his bicycle and is in serious but stable condition.

An 88 year-old man riding his bike in Wantagh was hit by a car Tuesday and is in serious but stable condition, cops said.

According to police, at 2:10 p.m., the man was riding his bicycle on Briard Street. At the Carrollton Avenue intersection, he was struck by a car driven by a 62 year-old man. The victim was thrown from his bike and sustained a serious head injury. 

He was taken to an area hospital, where he's listed in serious but stable condition. A brake test was conducted at the scene, and no criminality is suspected, cops added.
