WANTAGH, NY — A sneaker store was robbed early Monday in Wantagh by six people, who crashed a BMW into the Merrick Road storefront, police said.

Upon the officers' arrival just before 5 a.m., one of the two BMWs used to flee hit a squad car, sending an officer to the hospital for treatment.

Approximately 20 minutes after the store robbery, Nassau police spotted one of the fleeing BMWs parked near the intersection of Little Neck Avenue and Coral Court in North Bellmore. Police could seen in nearby backyards with flashlights and K-9 officers as two people took on foot from the BMW, Patch has learned.
