Curran Claims Her Loss Was Due To Kaminsky Running For DA
The outgoing Nassau County executive told WABC Radio: "There is no doubt" that is why she failed to win reelection.

MINEOLA, NY — Outgoing Nassau County Executive Laura Curran is apparently not leaving office on a high note.
Curran, who lost her reelection bid to Town of Hempstead Councilman Bruce Blakeman, blamed State Senator Todd Kaminsky for her defeat.
She told WABC's Bernie and Sid in the Morning: "There’s no doubt in my mind that I would have won if he were not on the ticket. I lost by about 2,100 votes."

Kaminsky ran unsuccessfully as the county's district attorney. He was a lightning rod the GOP, as he criticized for creating the new state bail reform laws that remove bail for most misdemeanors and nonviolent crimes, Newsday reported.
"As I was out and about, knocking on doors, talking to people, people would be like, 'Well I really like you, I’m a Republican. I’m thinking of voting for you. But this Todd Kaminsky guy, I don't know, I don’t like it,'" Curran also told the radio shows, according to Newsday.
