Our organization provides essential support to Ukrainian Humanitarian parolees through the Ukraine Supplemental Appropriation to Resettlement Agencies (USARA) Program. Through USARA, we help individuals and families achieve stability, economic independence, and successful integration into the community. We serve Ukrainian citizens paroled into the U.S., as well as non-Ukrainians who resided in Ukraine and were paroled into the U.S. between February 24, 2022 and September 30, 2024. WANTAGH, NY — Police have arrested a Massapequa woman after they say she drunkenly crashed into a marked police cruiser on Sunrise Highway in Wantagh. The officer had been issuing a summons to a motorist in an unrelated incident around 11:50 p.m. Saturday. That's when a 2003 Hyundai driven by Coleen McDermott, 26, hit the officer's vehicle, police said. The officer later found the Hyundai and pulled over the driver. McDermott's eyes were watery and her breath smelled of alcohol, police said. She was also unable to keep her balance. Police took McDermott into custody without incident and charged her with DWI with blood alcohol content over .08 percent, DWI and traffic violations.
