Duo Ran Away From Cops After Spotted Trying To Enter Cars: PD
The two got out of a stolen car and were trying to open other parked cars in Wantagh Friday, police say. A third person is still at large.
WANTAGH, NY — Two Hempstead men were arrested after running away from officers who spotted them trying to open several parked cars in Wantagh early Friday, according to Nassau Police. Jamil Davis-Taylor, 18, along with Jordan Satchell, 19, and a third person who has not yet been arrested, were the subjects of a 911 call reporting a suspicious occupied Jeep Wrangler parked on Johnson Avenue at about 3:15 a.m., police said. The three were seen getting out the car, heading in different directions, and trying to open the doors of several parked cars, police said.
Once officers arrived, all three ran away in different directions. With help from the Nassau County Police Department Canine Unit and the New York State Police, both Taylor and Satchell were found and placed under arrest, police said.
An investigation at the scene on Johnson Avenue revealed that the Jeep Wrangler was stolen from Baldwin earlier that morning. Inside the car was various items that were discovered to be stolen from cars in the Baldwin and Franklin Square areas, police said.

Both men were charged with third degree grand larceny and third degree criminal possession of stolen property. Taylor was also charged with third degree criminal trespass. They will be arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Saturday.
