Family Of Seriously Hurt Motorcycle Crash Victim Starts Donation Page

The webpage has gotten more than $40,000 for the family of Anthony Hayden.

WANTAGH, NY — A crash badly injured a Wantagh man and his family is seeking donations from the public.

Anthony Hayden suffered life-threatening injuries when he was struck while on his motorcycle last week, according to a GoFundMe page set up by the family.

Hayden was hospitalized with severe damage to his brain, spine, and extremities from the Merrick Road accident.

Hayden required immediate surgery to correct the displacement of his cervical vertebrae. He is also being treated for subdural hemorrhages and a diagnosis of Traumatic Brain Injury.

His family started the GoFundMe page in the aftermath of the July 19 crash to help with the "countless medical bills." Through Tuesday afternoon, they received more than 450 donations totaling over $40,000.

"We are beyond appreciative for any and all prayers you can send our way. We are all hoping for continued miracles with Vinny’s road to recovery," Hilda Hayden wrote on GoFundMe.

She said they remain positive despite the long road of recovery ahead.

"We are beyond blessed that Vinny has opened his eyes and we are able to see his baby blues," she wrote.
