Fire Fully Engulfs Home; All Residents Evacuate Safely: Police
The Wantagh fire does not appear to be criminal in nature, Nassau police said.
WANTAGH, NY — A home was fully engulfed in flames early Friday. Police and fire department responded to the call at Bayview Avenue just before 3:30 a.m.
Residents had safely evacuated before police arrived, detectives said.
A neighboring home suffered minor damage from the intense heat.

There were no injuries from the fire, according to police.
The Wantagh Fire Department was assisted by the Massapequa Fire Department in putting out the blaze. Approximately five pieces of apparatus and 35 firefighters were on hand, police said.

The Arson/Bomb Squad Detectives and the Fire Marshal do not suspect criminality at this time, according to a release by police.
