Flames Engulf Seaford Home; Woman, 80, Dies: Fire Marshal

SEAFORD, NY — A 80-year-old woman died in a Seaford house fire on Tuesday morning.

The Nassau County Fire Marshal confirmed to Patch that one woman died in the blaze. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The victim's 60-year-old daughter suffered smoke inhalation.

A Wantagh firefighter was transported to an area hospital with a burn injury, police said.

The Wantagh Fire Department was assisted by the Seaford, Bellmore and Massapequa fire departments. Approximately 70 firefighters helped battle the blaze.

Nassau police said the fire started just after 6 a.m.
