Frolicking in the Snow with your dog

I love to watch my kids and my dogs play in the snow. Both are equally inventive and skillful at maneuvering the icy slippery wet mush. In both cases as the adult I have to be the voice of reason. While the kids are covered in snow protection our dogs are not. A wet coat is hyperthermia in the making. Once inside brush out and dry your pet. A few extra minutes with a blow dryer can only help. If it is very cold out watch for freezing, then cracking, then bleeding nails. Kwick-Stop is a powder that is easily applied to a bleeding nail. It will stop the bleeding instantly. If it is a bad crack see a veterinarian. If your buddy likes walks in the snow “Mushers Paw wax” is a great little product. One tub will last forever. Just apply some paw wax to the pads. This will create insulation between frozen cement, ice and rock salt, when you get in wash off your pets pads as well. http://www.facebook.com/chanceandbellespamperedpaws
