High Notes for Wantagh Student-Musicians

Eighteen Wantagh high school and middle school student-musicians were selected to participate in the Nassau Music Educators Association All-County Festivals, to be held at the Tilles Center for the Performing Arts at LIU Post on Jan. 14-15.

Selection was based on students’ individual New York State School Music Association evaluation scores and teacher recommendations, as well as on evaluations during solo performances at regional music festivals.

Performing are:

Juliana Barone – women’s chorus, alto; Jonathan Cangelosi – band, trombone; Kevin Ganzekaufer – mixed chorus, tenor; Matthew Hanauer – band, timpani; Michael Hennig – band, trumpet/cornet; Daniel Hirsch – jazz band, trumpet; Alicia Hutt – band, Bb clarinet; Ryan Krieger – orchestra, viola; Christina Nerone – orchestra, violin; Jessica Persky – women’s chorus, alto; Kaylee Pizzileo – chorus, alto; Luke Sales – orchestra, trombone; Elena Scarano – band, Bb clarinet; Ben Schablin – band, trumpet/cornet; Alexa Sgroi – women’s chorus, alto; Matthew Soethout – jazz band, tenor sax; Angelina Torre – orchestra, violin; Lindsay Whiteman – vocal jazz, alto.
