Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz Announce Jones Beach Concert

WANTAGH, NY. — Long Island rap fans will have the chance to see a pair of living legends this September as Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz come to the Northwell at Jones Beach Theater, per a tour announcement released Tuesday.

In a tour announced to celebrate “20+ years of Carter classics,” Lil Wayne will kick off the U.S. tour June 30 in Bangor, ME, playing 29 tour dates and wrapping up Oct. 23 in Knoxville, TN. The Jones Beach concert will take place Sept. 10; while it’s not the only concert on the tour in New York — the New Orleans native will play in Saratoga Springs on Jul. 2 — it’s the only on Long Island.

“20+ years of Carter classics” is a nod to the rapper’s birth name, Dwayne Carter, and his successful “Tha Carter” album series. The series began with 2004’s “Tha Carter” and has been followed up by 2005’s “Tha Carter II,” 2008’s “Tha Carter III,” 2011’s “Tha Carter IV,” 2018’s “Tha Carter V” and 2025’s “Tha Carter VI.”
