Man Attempts To Flee After Swerving Against Traffic: Police
Police used the K-9 unit to locate Angelo Santamaria, who faces several charges, Nassau police say.

SEAFORD, NY — Police were called to investigate a suspicious vehicle in Wantagh early Monday.
Angelo Santamaria, 45, of Westbury, was seen by officers swerving into oncoming traffic and almost crashing into a marked police vehicle, detectives said.
Police attempted to pull Santamaria over, but he refused. Instead, Santamaria parked his Ford Econoline and fled on foot, detectives said.

Setting up a perimeter, police also had assistance from the K-9 unit to locate Santamaria and he was arrested without further incident, police said.
An investigation indicated that he was driving with a suspended license, police said.

Santamaria is charged with bail jumping, unlawful fleeing a police officer, plus multiple vehicle and traffic infractions. He also has two open warrants, one in Nassau County and one in Suffolk County. He was due for arraignment on Monday in Hempstead.
