Man Tries To Rob Bank; Teller Refuses To Hand Over Cash: Police

WANTAGH, NY — Someone tried to rob a bank in Wantagh on Wednesday morning, police said.

The man entered the Bank of America on Park Avenue just before 10 a.m. He gave the teller a note demanding money, but the teller did not comply. The man fled through the rear doors, police said.

There were four employees and no customers inside the bank at the time. No one was injured.
