Mandalay Students Celabrate Foreign Language Learning
Fifth graders at Wantagh school hosted a Foreign Language Exploration celebration.
As a method of exposing students to the variety of foreign languages available to them in the middle school, each of the elementary schools in the Wantagh School District teach the basics of Italian, French, Spanish, as well as Latin, to all fifth graders. The early exposure allows students to make informed decisions as sixth graders when choosing one language to specialize in when entering .
To celebrate their accomplishments thus far, students at hosted a Foreign Language Exploration celebration for parents and invited guests. The event featured Mandalay fifth-grade students singing songs in each language. Following the short performance, students feasted on foods native to each culture.
