Miranda Cosgrove Comes To Wantagh
Teen superstar to perform at Nikon at Jones Beach Theater Thursday.

In "School of Rock," the very successful big screen feature from 2003 starring comedian Jack Black, 10-year old Miranda Cosgrove was one of the students who didn't sing or play an instrument, instead playing her class's band manager, Summer Hathaway.
Eight years later, she's the singing star of one of the biggest pop music tours of the summer.
This Thursday, the teenage superstar brings her "Dance Crazy" show to Wantagh's along with musician Greyson Chance and special guest Cody Simpson.

It would have been hard to predict this road for Cosgrove, who became a television star playing Megan Parker on the Nickelodeon show "Drake and Josh." It was three years after that show ended, however, that she would take on the role that would turn her into a global teen icon and one of the most recognizable young people on the planet.
iCarly, where Cosgrove portrays Carly Shea, a teenage girl who teams with her two best friends to do a popular weekly web show, quickly became one of the highest rated shows on television among children ages 9-14 and has stayed that way ever since debuting in 2007. The singer’s first recording, the iCarly theme song, "Leave It All To Me," done with her old "Drake and Josh" co-star Drake Bell, became a big hit and the iCarly soundtrack immediately reached number one on the Billboard Kids Album chart in 2008. Her first full-length album, "Sparks Fly" reached number eight on the Billboard chart in 2010.

Now, Cosgrove brings her show on the road, in support of her new EP, "High Maintenance," which includes the namesake of the tour, "Dancing Crazy," a song co-written by Avril Lavigne. The dual television/music sensation promises a great time to all those who attend her concerts, writing on her twitter, "the new set [for] this tour is gonna be pretty cool! There [are] a lot of different levels on stage so I can run around. Can’t wait to get back on the tour bus and I can’t wait to see all of [you]!!!"
