More Than 50 Wantagh Students With COVID-19 Since School Opened
Wantagh Middle School has had 18 positive cases since Sept. 1, the Wantagh Union Free School District said.
WANTAGH, NY — While COVID-19 Pfizer booster shots are underway for qualifying Long Islanders, many school-aged students haven't been eligible for the first dose.
However, in the Wantagh School District, where masking is mandatory indoors for everyone, the number of COVID-19 cases has remained low.
Through Sept. 29, the district had 62 positives, with one new case involving a student at Wantagh Middle School, the district said on its website.

There were 13 COVID-19 on Sept. 1, the first day of school. On Sept. 20, six students and a staffer tested positive for the virus.
Since school started, Wantagh Middle School had 18 students test positive and Wantagh Elementary had 17 positive results.
