More Tributes For Little Leaguer Who Died Suddenly On Ball Field

SEAFORD, NY — The youngster, who died playing the game he loved, is being remembered across the island and beyond.
Lazar LaPenna, 10, died suddenly last month after having a seizure during a little league game in Point Lookout.
Teams honored the boy by wearing their jerseys on May 9, for LaPenna's number 9.

Seaford Little League took part in the solemn tribute as they wrote on Facebook asking: "Everyone to wear their little league or any baseball/softball shirt to school."
Lazar, a fourth-grader at East Elementary School, collapsed after running out a hit on April 29.

Students are paying their respects to LaPenna from as far away as West Virginia, Newsday said.
