Nassau Closes 18 County Beaches Following Storm
Health officials order the closing of beaches as potentially dangerous runoff water follows storm.

Health officials ordered the closing of 18 beaches in Nassau County following tremendous rainfall Tuesday night.
As storm runoff water sometimes elevates dangerous bacteria levels, officials closed 14 North Shore and four South Shore beaches until further notice.

Officials also noted Philip Healey Beach in Massapequa remains closed for elevated bacteria levels.
