Nassau Man Faces 24 Charges For Robbery Spree: Police

Police say he stole credit cards from parked cars, and then used them to purchase gift cards.

Nassau County police arrested a Wantagh man who they say was stealing credit cards from cars and using them to make purchases.

According to police, between Feb. 1 and Feb. 22, Kevin J. Toohill, of Ferndale Drive, would steal wallets and credit cards from cars that were parked in the lots of various businesses. After the thefts, police say that Toohill would use the credit cards to purchase gift cards at various stores. Police say that an investigation led them to Toohill, who was arrested on Tuesday.

Toohill is charged with two counts of second-degree forgery, 10 counts of first-degree identity theft and 12 counts of fourth-degree grand larceny. He is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in First District Court in Hempstead.
