New York American Water Awards Wantagh Student Prestigious Scholarship
Kyle Rhodehouse of Wantagh Wins $3,000 Scholarship for Water Industry Studies
New York American Water announced today Kyle Rhodehouse of Wantagh is this year’s 2015 recipient of a scholarship from the company’s National Association of Water Companies (NAWC-NY) Scholarship program. Rhodehouse, who attends Wantagh High School, earned a $3,000 scholarship in pursuit of studying biology at Colgate University.
“We congratulate Kyle on all his achievements throughout his high school career and for his commitment to pursuing a science, technology and engineering education,” said Brian Bruce, President of New York American Water. “We look forward to witnessing the success he will gain in the field of biology and in his future water and science career.”
New York American Water offered five $3,000 scholarships to high school seniors who planned to pursue a career in the water-utility industry or related fields. This is the fifth consecutive year New York American Water has offered scholarships to high school students within its service area as part of its commitment to fostering the future workforce and leaders of the state’s water supply. The scholarship program is part of an outreach effort by the New York Chapter of the National Association of Water Companies (NAWC), of which New York American Water is a member, and Bruce is Chairman.
