Pair Strangled, Tied Up Friend So They Could Rob Him: Police
The two said they would help the man move. Instead, police say they attacked him and robbed him.

Police arrested two men after they allegedly choked their friend with an extension cord and then tied him up with it so they could rob him.
According to Nassau police, a 21-year-old man got a phone call from Christian Dowd, 20, of Roosevelt Boulevard, Massapequa, that he and Patrick White, 39, of Godfrey Avenue, Bayville, would be able to help the man move out of his home on Somerset Drive in Seaford. The two arrived at the man's house at 3:32 p.m. Monday.
As the man began to fill plastic containers with sneakers, police say Dowd and White attacked him, beating him and then choking him with an extension cord, which they then used to tie him up. After the man was tied up, police say the two stole an undisclosed amount of cash, an iPhone and a pair of sneakers worth $1,500. They then fled the scene.
