Our organization provides essential support to Ukrainian Humanitarian parolees through the Ukraine Supplemental Appropriation to Resettlement Agencies (USARA) Program. Through USARA, we help individuals and families achieve stability, economic independence, and successful integration into the community. We serve Ukrainian citizens paroled into the U.S., as well as non-Ukrainians who resided in Ukraine and were paroled into the U.S. between February 24, 2022 and September 30, 2024. A 58-year-old man died after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a minivan in Freeport Saturday morning, police said. According to police, John H. Broems, of Freeport, was riding his 1997 Harley Davidson west on Merrick Road when he struck a 2000 Honda that was turning north onto Park Avenue. Broems suffered severe head trauma in the crash and was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The occupants of the minivan–a 53-year-old female driver and two 8-year-old boys in the rear of the vehicle–were not injured. Both vehicles were impounded for a brake and safety test. There is no apparent criminality in the crash at this time, police said, as the investigation continues. Google Maps Photo
