Seaford School District Gets New Head Of Physical Education

SEAFORD, NY — Seaford schools have a new head of physical education.
Kevin Witt was named the new director of physical education, health and athletics, the district announced Tuesday. With 17 years of experience as a teacher and an administrator, Witt will now oversee K-12 P.E. and health programs as well as all aspects of the athletics program at Seaford Middle School and Seaford High School, which offer students more than a dozen sports.
Witt, of Merrick, comes to the district after serving five years as an assistant principal of physical education, health, athletics and security at Benjamin Cardozo High School in Queens. Before that, he taught physical education and health for 10 years at Richmond Hill High School in Queens.

Witt holds a bachelor’s degree in physical education from SUNY Cortland, a master’s in health education from CUNY Lehman College and administrator certification from the College of St. Rose.
He played high school sports for Mepham High School, including football, basketball and baseball, and played rugby in college.
