Seaford Students Wow With 'The Wedding Singer'
The students turned back time to the 80's with their performance of the popular musical.

WANTAGH-SEAFORD, NY - From Seaford School District: The 1980s came to Seaford High School as the drama club electrified crowds with its production of “The Wedding Singer” from March 2-4. The musical was based upon the movie starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore.
Three months of rehearsals culminated with four performances including a Thursday afternoon show for senior citizens and scouts, Friday and Saturday night shows and a Saturday matinee.
Sophomore Andrew Calvacca and senior Amanda Cesario played leading characters Robbie Hart and Julia Sullivan. Rounding out the cast were Lauren Paladino as Holly, Dan Weber as Glen Gulia, Liam McDonald as Sammy, Danielle Valentino as Linda, Ryan Vasquez as George, Meredith Muirhead as Rosie and Emily Schiller as Angie, as well as an ensemble of nearly 40 other student-actors.

“The cast was wonderful,” Andrew said. “I also love the 1980s so it was amazing to be a part of the show that takes place in the that decade.”
The show was directed and choreographed by Samantha Gates. Other support included musical director Gina Salvia, producer Anthony Romeo, pit orchestra director Christopher Coniglio, set design supervisor Grant Weber, lighting crew adviser Joseph Poretti and costumer Suzanne Gates.
