Seal Spotted Soaking Up Sun At Jones Beach
The aquatic mammals are not an uncommon sight at Jones Beach in the winter, but are always exciting to spot.

A chubby seal was spotted by a keen-eyed Patch reader taking in the winter sun at Jones Beach recently.
The seal, which is not an uncommon sight in the winter months, was sunning itself on the sand. Seals can also sometimes be found frolicking and feeding in the waters off Long Island.
If you're interested in spotting some seals for yourself, you can sign up for family friendly Seal Walks at the Jones Beach Nature Center. Many are already booked, but you can sign up for the waiting list in case spots become available.
