Seaman's Neck Park
The community park in Seaford offers activities, peaceful views and refuge from the everyday hustle.
in Seaford brings back a lot of memories for me. At 16, I moved to Seaford to live with my Aunt and felt a little out of place. However, I made friends fast and got to know the area quite well. Being that I couldn't drive yet, hanging out in parks was pretty popular. Eventually, Seaman's Neck Park became a place I could call home.
My friend lived on the southern side of Seaford so the park, which is operated by the Town of Hempstead, was almost a weekly hangout. There is so much space it has to offer which is great because people can do a bunch of different things and not be a distraction. Whether you are playing tennis or paddleball or hitting up the basketball courts, everyone can enjoy the benefits of the park.
As you enter the park you are led to the main center area, which has tennis and basketball courts as well as a few playground areas for children. You will also find bathrooms and a seating area to eat lunch or have a quick snack.

As far as parking goes, there are more than enough spaces to use. If you prefer to ride a bike there are bike racks situated around the park as well.
I consider Seaman's Neck Park a place where activities and relaxation come together. If you rather watch a game than play it, take a seat at the many benches and enjoy. They always seem to be the best seat in the house. For all players, game areas are fenced in so any balls that seek to escape are confined to the play area. Unless you hit or throw it where the sun don't shine!

As you go deeper into the park, you will find baseball and soccer fields as well a fishing pier by the water. You can either drive or walk down the provided paths to your destination. However you choose to explore Seaman's Neck, majestic trees will greet you while the geese keep you company. Nature sure loves visitors so when you take refuge in its arms, you will always feel at home.
