ALBANY, NY — While the hot weather is here now, the other extreme will be upon us soon enough. The state Department of Transportation is preparing for the first snowstorm. It's looking to fill seasonal and permanent highway maintenance positions.

Part of the work detail includes plowing snow. But workers would also be called upon to do road repairs and operate light and heavy equipment, the DOT's Facebook page stated.

Requirements include a valid, clean Class A or B commercial driver's license and an ability to work overtime. Candidates would also be expected to complete physical and drug tests.
