Stop & Shop lends Support to American Cancer Society's Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk at Jones Beach

Stop & Shop teams with the American Cancer Society to make the Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk at Jones Beach a success.

Priscilla Compono and Juan Flores receive water from Stop & Shop during the American Cancer Society’s Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk at Jones Beach. Stop & Shop provided water, bagels, fresh fruit and other snacks to many of the more than 65,000 people who participated in the American Cancer Society’s Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk at Jones Beach. The walk underscores that no one fights Breast Cancer alone. According to the American Cancer Society, over 230,000 women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer and 40,290 will die from the disease this year. Since 1993, more than 11 million supporters have raised more than $685 million in breast cancer walks. In addition to the Jones Beach effort, walks were held in nearly 300 communities nationwide.
