This Weekend’s North Fork Recommendations July 4th

REAL ESTATE ADVICE

Weather reports have been iffy, but if things change we are here and ready to welcome you on the North Fork. Rain or shine the show will continue………………..

This weekend we have lots on tap. July 4th and 5th the Hamlets will all be having small town Americana Parades sponsored by the local Volunteer Fire Departments, and the Volunteers in Greenport will be hosting not only the Annual Fair but fireworks nightly starting on the first with the big shows scheduled for 10PM on the 4th and 5th. Get there early if you want a parking spot, Greenport can get busy!

I’m going to begin by recommending two restaurants in Greenport so if you are going to the fireworks you can arrive early, eat, walk, and be there for the show.

BBQ Bills Famous Texas Bar-B-Que right there in the center of town overlooking the Marina offers the best in Bar-B-Que here on the North Fork. 47 Front Street, Greenport, www.bbqbillsgreenport.com or you can try The Cuvee Seafood & Grille in the Greenporter Hotel, at 326 Front Street Greenport, www.greenporterhotel.com/restaurant

If you want to avoid the Greenport crowds you can try one of my favorites, Porto Bello on the Bay. Located in the marina at 1410 Manhansset Avenue Greenport, you can get great Italian food and be treated to the greatest views. http://www.portobellonorthfork.com/

For winery activity this weekend we are first in Jamesport at the Jamesport Vineyards on the Main Road. This weekend they are offering homemade Lobster salad sandwiches, woo fired flatbread, and fresh raw bar items, all with their delicious wines and beers. Also for your entertainment, live music all weekend from 1-5pm, Saturday with the Jon Divello Band and Sunday with Kerry Kearney. https://www.jamesportwines.com/

The second vineyard on our list this weekend is a Wine & Cheese Pairing Event at the Laurel Lake Vineyards’.  Also located on the Main Road in Laurel, this event requires advance reservations and is on Saturday only. http://www.llwines.com/

Fun things to do takes us once again to Shelter Island where the Perlman Music Center is hosting Students of The Perlman Music Program’s Summer Music School concert featuring varied programs of classical masterworks and it’s FREE. For details, www.perlmanmusicprogram.org

The Historical Societies across the East End will all be hosting events this weekend in each of the Hamlets, two of note are the 50th Anniversary Antique Show and Sale in Cutchogue from 7:30 to 4:30 on the Village Green. Admission cost by age and in Mattituck, at the Historical Societies Museum on Cardinal drive, lots of handmade and collectables will be available. Admission here is only a dollar!

As usual, I don’t see lots of time for real estate, but if you are interested let me know. My schedule, like many of the other Brokers, is busy but very flexible.
